As everyone knows, I'm currently on a 12-step "Future Philadelphian" program, and right now, I'm on Step 4, which is "Listening to
Sid Mark's Sinatra program".
So I attempted to listen this morning via WPHT's Internet stream, and to my chagrin, I receive a looped message saying "Sounds of Sinatra" cannot
be heard on their Internet stream, and to listen, I should tune to 1210 AM.
Does anyone know why exactly 1210 does not simulcast the Sinatra programming on their Internet feed? Is it because of the royalties? If so, I would find that
hard to believe, since I would imagine they had to be covered for all the ASCAP/BMI stuff based on the samples of songs heard on 1210's regular talk
programming (the hosts' theme songs, etc.). Aren't CBS' stations covered collectively for those fees, regardless of format?
