I realize anyone who runs a board has the right to do whatever they want with it but I have the right to say that I think the people who are in charge of them have to much time on their hands as do many of the frequent posters.
As George pointed out a couple of months ago on the Racket, ten years ago, people like Scott Fybush started and populated the boards. I know Scott and he is very knowledgable about the industry as demonstrated weekly in his Northeast Radio Watch.
Unfortunately with the popularity of the internet came the radio wannabes. Those are the people who have never been inside a station. Most of them have never worked in the industry but they know everything about it or at least they think they do.
I have worked in the business and I have a lot more to learn about it. By the way, this post is not about may.
I think a well run message board should consist of all kinds of opinions whether the owner or moderator agrees with what is said or not. Also a lot can be said with humor and satire. That point is proven every Friday night on Audio 18.
Many owners of the popular message boards do not allow for alternative points of view or humor. I think this puts what they have to say in question and they don't want that kind of thing to occur.
I am not saying that radio message boards should go away but deleting that thread after the information and findings about the sale of HD radios on QVC was made public on the racket was wrong.
